Best Detoxifying Food

Okay so the weekend is here and I feel so excited and lazy at the same time, just rolled out of bed and chugged down 3 glasses of detox water. I have always wanted to blog about my best detox food, and y’all know I detox almost every weekend, in fact this weekend’s detox is super important as I had an amazing not- so- healthy lunch yesterday with my best buddy….Lewis, we had so much food that we couldn’t even walk properly, I had to adjust my belt…..*embarrassed face*,but this happens once in 4-5months. So sometimes it is okay to indulge!

So let’s get to it. Here are my best detoxifying  food, they are affordable ,very accessible and I consume them on a weekly basis.

Lemon: I absolutely cannot take my water without lemons in it. Lemons have strong antibacterial, antiviral, and immune-boosting powers and can be used as a weight-loss aid because lemon juice is a digestive aid and liver cleanser.

Cayenne Pepper: Peppers are one of the richest sources of Vitamin C. I add pepper to all my soups, cleansing juice, rice dishes etc.  All hot peppers contain capsaicin, a compound known for its ability to regulate body temps, improve circulation and help reduce appetite and burn more calories.

Ginger: I chew ginger like its bubble gum, it is super-hot but I love it!! It helps a lot especially when I feel bloated and super full. Ginger is perfect for getting your metabolism moving and flushing waste and toxins out of the body. Ginger is also a natural stomach ache cure.

Green Tea: This tea is the best thing to happen to me this year. Green tea can help increase and even change your metabolism, so you burn more calories from fat. Studies show that green tea can also help you keep weight off once you’ve lost it.

Broccoli: Broccoli has a strong, positive impact on our body’s detoxification system, and is able to support all steps in the body’s detox process, including activation, neutralization, and elimination of unwanted contaminants.

Cucumber:  Cumbers are amazing, you can add cucumbers to your salad, your water, juice or smoothie. The high water content and dietary fiber in cucumbers are very effective in ridding the body of toxins from the digestive system, aiding digestion. Daily consumption of cucumbers can be regarded as a remedy for chronic constipation.

Apple Cider Vinegar: Raw apple cider vinegar is alkalizing, helps with digestion, and can help with fat metabolism.

Cinnamon: I sometimes add a pinch of cinnamon to my tea or my smoothies. Studies suggest that cinnamon may have a regulatory effect on blood sugar which is great for people trying to lose weight or manage diabetes. Cinnamon can also help lower cholesterol in the body and is heart healthy.

Garlic: Yea I know garlic can give your breathe a nasty smell if chewed raw , that is why it is best to take it at night before bed. Garlic contains manganese, vitamin B6, antioxidants, anti- inflammatory properties, as well as valued sulfur compounds that contribute to heart health!

Blueberries: Blueberries contain natural aspirin that helps lessen the tissue-damaging effects of chronic inflammation, and also act as antibiotics by blocking bacteria and thereby helping to prevent infections.

Strawberries: Berries are high in antioxidants like resveratrol, essential vitamins and also contain fiber to keep you feeling full! Strawberries are also a great source of foliate which has been shown to help keep your heart healthy.

Water: This is the best part of everything, I love love water. Water is the bodies best form of detox. Since our bodies consist of primarily water, increasing water intake is like feeding the body in its most natural state. If you really want to feel great and flush out toxins, drink up!

So these are my best detoxifying food! Have a beautiful weekend people and stay healthy

xoxo
