I Got The #NordicFeeling In My Weekend Getaway At Nordic Villa

Hello friends, welcome back to my blog. I know I have been away for a while, but I was away for a very important yet simple reason; REST! I needed a break from everything.

I even needed a break from the normal and usual, so I decided to go on a mini weekend getaway and I had the best time. If you read my blog frequently, you will know that the Nordic Hotels in Nigeria is home to me. You can read all about my Nordic Hotel experience here http://www.adohrspeaks.com/all-about-my-staycation-at-nordic-hotel-mynordicexperience/However this time around I wanted to experience the #nordicfeeling at Nordic Villa in Jabi, Abuja.

As I walked into the villa, as it is often referred to (not to be confused with the presidential Villa) on that Friday morning, I felt this peace I have never felt before – I literally felt at home. I could not take my eyes of the greenery around the compound and all the nature and beautiful trees surrounding the villa. I was warmly welcomed by the receptionist and offered a glass of juice and a bottle water and a scented face towel (omg(!) – it was sooo nice), the receptionist took her time to explain all the facilities in the hotel, before checking me into my room. I also could not help but notice the beautiful lobby and work space. There’s fast and free complimentary WIFI all over the hotel.

The lobby at Nordic Villa is beautified by some amazing artwork by the Benue artist Sor Sen (check out more of his work https://www.facebook.com/public/Sor-Sen  ), brass and golden accents and some Scandinavian designs. And of course the beautiful Tom Dixon Itch lamps. As I was taken to my room I just kept looking round like a kid in a candy store. We walked past by the breakfast room, and I must confess it is one of the most beautiful breakfast area I have ever seen, from the lighting (Bestlite lamps with a brass top – matches the lamps in the lobby and all door handles with are all brass) to the beautiful artworks to the table setting and arrangement, I loved everything. I stayed in the Malmö room, and it was the best room for me. I loved the minimalistic nature of the room and the little accents. I had everything I needed in my room, from a workspace with a study lamp, to a TV, good lighting, bedside lamp and a full standing mirror. I also loved the fact that the room has a directory from A-Z  (this will make a traveler’s visit to Abuja smooth and easy).

I also loved the fact that my room had a great view; i woke up pretty much every day, with a cup of coffee in hand staring into my beautiful view. The bathroom was also an interesting place, I had the option of either running a bath or taking a shower (nice good pressure on the water), I had all the toiletries I needed in the room, a bathrobe, hair dryer and hot water throughout my stay.

Let me not even begin with Nordic Villa’s breakfast, every guest stay at Nordic Villa comes with a complimentary breakfast and I had everything I could ever ask for in a breakfast. During my stay I had breakfast either in the breakfast room or in my room.

After breakfast I worked for a bit either in the workspace area of the lobby or the lounge area of the villa. Trust me to always have either a cup of Nordic Villa signatures coffee or a glass of juice in my hand as I worked.

All guests at Nordic Villa (in addition to the complimentary breakfast) have full access to the gym and pool at BluCabana. Guests can also order lunch and dinner from the BluCabana menu. I had an amazing weekend experience at Nordic Villa. Before checking out, I ordered an Uber which is easy to use, comfortable and also affordable. All Uber drivers know where Nordic Villa is, so it wasn’t difficult for them to locate. I dropped off my room key at the reception, listened to some music at the lounge area as I waited for my Uber to arrive.

Nordic Villa is an exceptional place; everything in this hotel is breathtaking. The staffs were all friendly and accommodating to me, attention to detail is impeccable, ambience is bliss, and professionalism is top notch even down to the security officials. My weekend getaway at Nordic Villa was quite an experience, and I cannot wait to be back.

If you are visiting Abuja and you want to experience the #nordicfeeling, then Nordic Villa is the place to reside – you will feel at home. If you also reside in Abuja, and you need a hideout or an exclusive place to relax then Nordic Villa is the place to be.

Nordic Villa is located at No. 52, Mike Akhigbe Way, Jabi Abuja. https://www.google.dk/maps/place/The+Nordic+Villa/@9.0719973,7.4291713,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x104e7529bd7c3e79:0x44c80aa9f1152aef!8m2!3d9.071992!4d7.43136
