MAKING THE RIGHT SMOOTHIE

If you’re like most people, your smoothie-making routine probably goes something like this:
Dump a ton of healthy ingredients in the blender.
Hit “blend.” Watch as nothing happens.
Stop blender. Try stirring up your ingredients with a spoon or adding more liquid to get them to blend.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you end up with a semi-satisfying drink that’s either too tart, too sweet, too thick, or too watered-down.
Drink it anyway, because what else are you going to do?
Fortunately, the sad smoothie parade ends today….can i get an AMEN!!

Personally smoothies are one of my favorite go to drinks,they can be very filling too,especially now that i have gone vegan,they are just perfect… Totally in love, i have gotten a lot of questions about my smoothies and how i make them. So i am dedicating this post to all smoothie lovers and soon to be lovers.
I know there are a lot of stores and supermarket that sell already made smoothies,i got one from a store the other day and it was so nasty,i was sick for days. A lot of these smoothies from supermarkets and stores are filled with sugar and not healthy enough.
SO lets gets started on how to make the perfect smoothie
First you need the following equipments
-BLENDER OR SMOOTHIE MAKER
-BOWL
-CHOPPING BOARD
-KNIFE
-SPOON
-CUP
To make the perfect smoothie this are the most important and basic ingredients

1 serving PROTEIN + 1 serving FIBER+ unlimited GREENS + 1/4 cup FRUCTOSE +2 tbsp FAT + LIQUID + SUPERFOOD

For protein look for a clean protein powder or whey.

For fiber you can use raw fiber powder or chia seeds, flax seeds, or even avocado.

Greens can be anything from kale to spinach, basil, parsley, cucumber,celery, anything green and leafy works.

Fruit or high fructose vegetables can be whatever you like, berries, banana, mango, peach, carrot, just be sure not to overdo it. Frozen fruits are great if you like a thicker smoothie.

For the fat category you can choose coconut oil, avocado,peanuts.

Liquids can be water, almond milk, coconut water,green tea, soya milk.

Last but not least, the superfood or additive. These can act as toppings or you can choose one that coordinates with your health goals. You can choose chia seeds, sunflower seeds, coconut flakes,cinnamon,ginger,turmeric.

DIRECTIONS
Start your smoothie with two mugs full of the liquid base. It’s important to add the liquid to your blender before adding the fruit as this will prevent the blade from getting damaged.
Next add about three quarters of a mug of your chosen fruit.You may have to add more fruit or liquid, depending on the type of fruit you choose. Add your fiber,fat,protein powder and greens, add a few ice cubes to the blender for a thick and frosty smoothie.

HERE ARE SOME HEALTHY RECIPES FOR YOU,TRY IT AT HOME

Good Green Tea Smoothie
INGREDIENTS
3 cups frozen grapes
2 packed cups baby spinach
1 1/2 cups strong brewed green tea (see Tip), cooled
1 medium ripe avocado

Pineapple Green Smoothie
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup unsweetened soya milk
1/3 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
1 cup baby spinach
1 cup frozen banana slices (about 1 medium banana)
1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
1 tablespoon chia seeds

Banana-Coconut Green Smoothie
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup coconut water
1/3 cup avocado
1 cup chopped spinach
1 cup frozen banana slices (about 1 medium banana)
1/2 cup frozen mango or pineapple

  1. Haaa Rhoda you’re now a vegetarian? If I try this Vegan stunt, my hubby will chase me out Lool. Thanks for the smoothie tips. Would definitely try them. Keep it up.

    1. Lol that’s not true! Try it,you never know he may like it! Use more fruits!
